London web agency, OM Design, are proud to announce the launch of a brand new website for leading financial body the Lending Standards Board
 The Lending Standards Board (LSB) is a body which seeks to promote, instil and maintain good practice in relation to financial products. They do this by monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Lending Code, a self-regulatory set of rules and regulations pertaining to financial institutions such as banks, credit card providers and debt collection agencies, all of whom have to meet stringent standards to be allowed to even apply.
Sponsored by the British Bankers’ Association (BBA) and the UK Cards Association, they have the full weight of the industry behind them. In an age of mistrust and scepticism, much of it aimed at financial bodies, signing up to the code is an attempt by the bodies concerned to instil a sense of trust between themselves and their customers, and the LSB both oversees the code and assists with its implementation.
The LSB came to OM Design web agency and asked us to design and build their new website. Following a major review which had led to fundamental changes to the Code, they wanted to be able to work with and through an online presence which reflected the service they offered, the ethos they represented and the kind of trust they wanted to engender. They felt that their website now represented a key part of both their branding and their service delivery, and they wanted us to make sure it met these challenges.
We worked closely with them to create a website which hit every target. Above all else, the finished site would promote the Code and provide a first port of call for anyone seeking advice, reassurance or information. The branding would help to cement a reputation for trust and competence, while the intuitive interface would make the site user-friendly and accessible. This last, in particular, had to apply no matter what size or type of device the site was being accessed on. Finally, and looking to future-proof the site, we built a simple, easily utilised content management system, allowing the LSB to update the site to reflect changes in the financial landscape or the needs of visitors.
One of the key selling points of the LSB site is the sheer wealth of content it gathers through the portal we created. We engineered a design which made it easy for visitors to work through this material seeking the information they need. Taken together, the work we devoted to the site has positioned the LSB as the leading UK authority on lending practice, and has built a brand which is capable of reaching out to all parts of the audience.
